How to Use & Reset a Combination Lock on Your Letterbox
Our letterboxes use a mechanical 3-digit combination lock for simple, key-free access. Below is a clear guide on how to use the lock day to day, and how to reset the code if needed.
How to Use the Combination Lock
- Rotate the three dials to your current code.
- The factory default code is usually 0-0-0.
- Turn the lock to the OPEN position to access the compartment.
- After closing the door, scramble the dials to conceal the code.
Note: Depending on the lock model, the OPEN direction may be clockwise or anticlockwise.

How to Reset the Combination Code
- Set the lock to the current working code and open the lock.
- Locate the small reset hole on the side of the lock.
- Insert a pin, paperclip, or small nail into the hole.
- Press and hold the reset button inside.
- If you don’t feel a spring or click, rotate the lock fully clockwise or anticlockwise and try again.
- While holding the reset button, set your new 3-digit code.
- Release the reset button.
- Test the new code several times before closing the door.
Important Tips
- Do not release the reset button until the new code is fully set.
- Always test the new code with the door open.
- If the current code is unknown, the lock cannot be reset and may need replacing.
