A standoff holds a sign a set distance off the wall instead of flat against it. The gap catches light and throws a soft shadow behind the panel, which lifts the sign off the surface visually and keeps the text readable at an angle. Aluminium or clear polycarbonate
The aluminium set is the traditional choice: a machined cap that reads as a deliberate design detail, finished in black, silver or white so it can either match the panel or contrast against it. Use it when you want the fixings to be part of the look.
The clear polycarbonate set does the opposite. Moulded in transparent PC, it all but disappears against the wall, leaving the panel apparently floating with no visible hardware. Use it when the sign should be the only thing anyone sees.
What comes in the set
Every set contains four standoffs, one for each corner of a rectangular panel, along with the screws and wall plugs needed to fix them. The clear set also includes four pre-cut adhesive discs, giving a second way to mount onto smooth, sound surfaces without drilling the wall.
