Rhyo Fence Letterbox — Installation Guide

Install your Rhyo fence letterbox with this clear, step-by-step guide.

Tools Required

  • Drill/driver
  • Drill bit(s) suitable for your fence material (pilot holes if required)
  • Jigsaw
  • Spirit level
  • Tape measure
  • Pencil

Choose a Location

Rhyo is designed for fence installations. Choose a position that’s easy for Australia Post and couriers to access from the street, and where you can comfortably reach the rear door for mail collection.

Recommended mail slot height: 900–1200 mm above ground level.

Before cutting, confirm there is clear space behind the fence for the rear box (90 mm deep) and for the rear door to open freely.

Mark and Cut the Fence Opening

  1. Use the blank carton template supplied in the box to outline the fence cut-out.
  2. Position the template on the fence and check it is level.
  3. Trace the opening with a pencil.
  4. Cut along the traced line using a jigsaw to create the fence opening.

Safety tip: Wear appropriate safety gear when cutting.

Install the Rear Box

  1. From the rear side of the fence, hold the rear box aligned to the cut-out.
  2. Open the rear door to access the internal mounting holes.
  3. Secure the rear box to the fence using the screws provided (4 fixing points).

Note: Do not drill into the letterbox itself.

Fit the Front Panel

  1. From the front side of the fence, position the front panel over the cut-out.
  2. Guide the threaded studs through the opening so they locate into the matching holes in the rear box.
  3. From inside the rear box, fit the washers and nuts onto the studs.
  4. Tighten evenly until secure.

Tip: Start all nuts by hand first, then tighten evenly to keep the panel aligned.

Final Checks

  • Confirm the front panel sits flush against the fence.
  • Check the rear door opens and closes freely.
  • Test the lock and viewing window.
